The world building was excellent, the magic made sense, and the character development was chef's kiss. I struggle reading things in a different language because I'm dyslexic. The glossary was extremely helpful! Thank you for including it! But the story itself kept me from being discouraged. I couldn't spend time being frustrated because I was so excited to see what happened next. I loved it! At first I was intimidated by the page count (I know it isn’t that bad, but 500 pages can be a bit intense). It flew by though and I instantly signed up for the waitlist at my library for the next book in the series. I feared for the characters and cheered for Vanja. I was proud of both her and Gisele’s growth. I loved every scene with Ragne for her innocence and comic relief which was much needed. And I felt for Conrad. This was a wonderful way to expose myself to the Goose Girl story and I cannot wait for more from Margaret Owen.
