This book was pretty good. I didn’t know what to expect going in but the different creatures and lore were different and cool. It was cold, dark, Germanic style mythology and was unique to things I have read in the past.
I enjoyed this book overall but did get a little lost at times with mentions of the different gods and creatures.
Ragne was my favorite! There was humor, self sabotage, and redemption. I would recommend this book to you, if you like fairytale retellings, brash characters, conflict, and tales from other cultures.
The characters were well done and it was fun to go along on adventures with them. At first I wasn’t sure how the story was going to go but we drawn into it more and more. It had a little bit of a slow confusing start, but worth it to get to the end. There are sections of the book that are interrupted with tales with beautiful illustrations and it was a pleasant reading experience.
