I was instantly intrigued the moment I read the first line. I'm not a huge fan of prologues but this was honestly one of my favorite ones so far. It perfectly sets up the whimsical and eerie feel of the rest of the story and I was dying to find out more. The rest of the First Impression left me with so many questions (great ones!) and I'm excited to see how Margaret will answer them later on. I can't finish this without mentioning the writing style. The way Margaret weaves in the mystery with her prose and doesn't show everything right away is what kept me scrolling (?) the pages. I also ADORE the cover! The gold, red, and blue color palette, along with the lettering style, perfectly complement each other. I'd honestly buy on cover alone.
