Little Thieves starts out with Vanja, being given to her godmothers, Death and Fortune. She was the 13th daughter of a 13th daughter, and her luck was rotten to the core. She entered her new life, but began to have some misgivings. This book is instantly engaging, and hooked me in straightaway. Definitely the page turner that I have been looking for!
