A little girl abandoned due to a terrible fate not of her doing. Vanja becomes the god-daughter of Death and Fortune when abandoned by her mother. Refusing her fate, Vanja turns to impersonating a princess and stealing from the rich. However, actions have consequences and I look forward to finding out how Vanja rights her wrong doings before it is too late. It is fun reading about a smart girl trying to make the best of her situation and make her life better overall. She doesn't seem to actually have ill will towards others, which can be seen through her consideration of the servants, in regards to making sure she does not get them in trouble. Though unclear as to how she will get caught, I am more interested in how she rights her wrongs and overall improves her life before she loses out forever. Great beginning that draws you in and makes you want more and to know what will happen next.
