After reading Owen's first book and enjoying it, not enough to pick up the sequel however, I'm interested in what she can do in this retelling/reimagining. I thought the sample pages were delightfully engaging and capturing of the whimsy but dark essence of the original Grimm writings. My thoughts on the cover are conflicting. On one hand, it is very similar to her other two books which are a duology, and this is a completely different story which an audience browsing the shelves may not realize/think they already read. But on the other hand, I really like the art style and think the artist and designer are immensely talented.
