By the end of this first impression reading, I was absolutely hooked. Owen paints some beautiful imagery and builds the intrigue very nicely. Vanja's character is so fascinating, even in this short excerpt. She's got a bit of a predictable personality but with a hint of mystery to it. That small hint is making me excited to find out what happens next! I am loving the steal-from-nobles plot and can already sense the troubles that are to come.
