The cover art and concept of this novel are fantastic. I found myself sucked in from those two things alone. Now, the writing style is what disappointed me.
Perhaps it is only me, but this excerpt felt almost disjointed with the way it was written. I didn't know where we were going or why we were headed that way. So many metaphors and similes. It was a bit too much attempt at floweriness for me and not enough substance to truly hook me.
