This book beautifully blends fairytale and thriller together. It doesn't feel too fantastical, but neither does it feel entirely of our world. You can feel the protagonist's panic (as well as aggravation at your husband... screw you, Patrick). The hint at the lengths the mother will go to in the first chapter kept me reading till the end. I had to know if she was actually going to go through with it! The ending keeps up with the premise, it doesn't let you down.

The only thing that keeps it from being a 5 star entirely is that I would have liked a bit more vagueness in whether or not it was all in her head. For me, it felt like it leaned too far one way to leave much doubt in my head. But still, very well written.
