I listened to this as an audiobook and I enjoyed it! It grabbed my attention from the very beginning and kept it for the whole book. It's the story of a new Mom who has a fright in the hospital and then is scared to take her newborn twins out of the house. When she finally does, they disappear when she doses off on a bench. They are returned to her, but she does not believe they are her twins. Since everyone thinks she is stressed and tired from having twins and a difficult birth, they write her off as needing psychological care. She is determined to do whatever it takes to bring her babies home.
This is described as a book for fans of Neil Gaiman and Grimms' Fairy Tales and I would agree with that statement. I would categorize it as a dark magical realism book rather than a mystery/thriller, and what started off as something somewhat unbelievable, I couldn't wait to keep reading (with one eye open and one eye closed) to find out the outcome!
