Me throughout a majority of this book: oh god

So Lauren Tranter gives birth to twins and while still in the hospital she sees a woman in her room attempting to swap her newborn children with changelings. Obviously she was seeing things, right ?

With a description that intense, "Little Darlings" had a lot to live up to, and it terrified me as much as a book is able. It messed with me for a bit a while after, because we aren't actually given an answer as to what really happened; either Lauren is suffering from postpartum depression and hallucinated the woman, or she didn't and her children are gone. This going unanswered did feel a bit trite, to be honest, but it didn't ruin the experience.
