I liked the tone and the setting of the opening scene; it immediately sets an expectation for the story that fits the summary, and it draws the readers in with the need to know how they got there. The first few chapters also outlined the dynamic between Lauren and Patrick pretty well, and we see Patrick through Lauren's eyes, and know Lauren through her own mind.
I also liked the book cover! It matches the mysterious stranger in the hospital, the way she was described with "a muddy, fishy smell" and how at the beginning the distance between Lauren and her was "wide as a river." Clever foreshadowing, I hope. I'm definitely interested in reading more!
