It took a little while for me to be fully engaged with the story. Initially, the sample focused on the birth of the twins and the routines that followed. But, once the main character encounters the creepy, disturbing woman in the bed next door, demanding that one of the twins be swapped for one of her own, does the novel get interesting. Quickly, the story turns ominous; there is a feeling of a threatening presence and that things are about to get much worse.
