I've had this on my TBR list for a while, since I first heard about it. It definitely has the creep-factor of some of Neil Gaiman's books, and I enjoyed the atmosphere. It was very difficult to read the beginning part, though, because having been through labor and delivery, I was brought right back to it and felt a little sick thinking about it. Coupled with the strange woman next to her, I started feeling a little light-headed! This definitely lives up to the description. I'm not sure if I'd be able to finish it, but I think Ii'd like to at least try.
