I hope the rest of the book is as good as the first taste. So far I love the horror, suspense and other worldliness of the first 31 pages. I would definitely read on. The writing is very good. The author absolutely nails the mother's experience with child birth and those first days of exhaustion, confusion, questioning, and fear that can be overwhelming. Reading the excerpt I could feel the pain, smell the blood and remember the fear of - "what if I can't keep my baby safe?" Now add in some Irish folklore and I think this will be an excellent read.
