"Like Happiness" by Ursula Villarreal-Moura has an interesting plot, various settings and some unique, thought-provoking characters. The storyline starts in Chile in 2015, following the life of Tatum Vega. It appears that she has finally landed her dream job of working in an art museum and that her life is finally on track. Previously to working in Chile, she spent a decade working as a teacher's assistant in New York City. Her life was full of ups and downs as she maintained an on again/off again relationship with the famous author, M. Dominguez. The plot transverses between her time in New York City and her current life in Chile. While leaving in Chile, she receives a call from a reporter who is researching and seeking corroboration on a story about alleged assault allegations against M. Dominquez. Tatum finds herself reliving a past life that she just as soon forget. In reliving her past, how much responsibility does she need to be accountable for? Does the wasted decade of her life fall solely on M.? You read, and you decide.
