Just Okay For Me
Well, this book started off strong, but ultimately it ended up just being an okay read for me.
I appreciated the topics that were explored in this book--gender, power, and fame. Unfortunately for me, however, it felt like the book didn't explore the topics as deeply as they could have. I understand that so many of these topics are big ones to explore; I just wish more had been brought to the table.
Overall, it just felted unfinished.
I will say, however, that I appreciate how much she explored the development of the relationship that was shown in this novel. That was obviously an integral part of the story, and I thought it was done pretty well. I just wished that the relationship tied into the themes the author was trying to explore, if that makes sense.
So overall, I thought the writing wasn't bad. It's just that the plot wasn't executed as well as it could have been, in my opinion.
