Ursula Villarreal-Moura has truly crafted a remarkable book. I had the privilege of reading it in one sitting, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Tatum Vega, our main character, introduces us to a relatable and well-crafted narrative. As a woman from Texas studying at a prestigious east coast college, Tatum is acutely aware of her working-class Latina background. She holds a deep passion for art and literature, finding solace in these subjects. Through her reading, she seeks to uncover a greater meaning in life and idolizes various authors. Books became her refuge at school, where she lacked companionship. However, everything changes when she comes across a book that resonates with her soul. Acting on impulse, she reaches out to the author, and to her surprise, he responds. What begins as a simple fan email evolves into a complex relationship with significant consequences. Within this unconventional connection, we witness a young woman's journey of self-discovery, navigating life with limited experience.
