The fact that this was Ursula Villarreal-Moura's debut novel seems impossible!! This was a emotional coming of age novel about manipulation, emotional growth, and power. It's a novel many can compare their own experiences to.. Realizing how someone you thought you loved, looked up to and cherished was toxic and manipulating. How the older you get and look back to everything they did and most importantly didn't do is very eye opening!!
This book will come to mind constantly to remind you what you have overcame and what to look out for in relationships. Not just romantic either but in general!!
Ursula created a novel that should be read by not just YA but everyone. Cannot wait to see her future works. Which I am sure will be just as beautifully written as "Like Happiness". Kudos to you Ursula on such a well written coming of age novel!!!
