It seems to be a universal experience for people to reach a point in life where they are struggling to find their niche, to decide who they really want (or don't want) as friends, and what they are willing to sacrifice to achieve their goals. The articles in this book mention important points: one must take time for self care. The author mentions feels that hip hop shows the importance of listening as well as creating and helping people to look beneath the surface and into the soul of a subject. Listening is such an important skill that educators talk about it all the time, and part of the negotiation of peace talks involves listening to the other side. It is unfortunate that there still is such a need for listening to others whose opinions might seem different.
