I really like this idea for a book. It's rare that books feature hip-hip in this light. I especially like how the Table of Contents is set up. It makes it easy to find exactly what you need when the mood presents itself. The selection of artists that this book features is great as well. I especially like how it's not just male rappers either and how this book includes female rappers ( as they should lol ).
I think it's also important to note that some of these artists ( SZA, Snoh Aelegra, etc.) aren't what most people would classify as rappers, and would be more considered as R&B. I like how they chose not to just put a picture of the artist next to their lesson, and instead placed a portrait. I feel that this just grounds the book a bit more.
This what I would call a coffee table book as the cover is appealing, and each lesson is short enough that you or any guests you have can read it a little at a time.
