First, thank you to Bookish First for the chance to read and review this book.

"Life Lessons from Hip-hop" is not exactly what I expected. It's a hardcover book, which I normally like, but I feel that paperback would work best for this book. I liked that the "lessons" were short, with only a page or two devoted to each person writing. I also liked how the book was divided. If I want to read about a specific theme, I can simply turn to that page of the book.

Admittedly, I did not know who a lot of the hip-hop artists were. I thought I would have a good idea, but maybe I am either too old, or, perhaps, too young!

I don't know if I am the audience for this book, but I do think that lessons can be taken from the book, for sure.

This book is perfect for people who enjoy music and quick stories to relate to their personal lives. It's almost like a Chicken Soup for the Soul book.
