I was recently asked by a friend to write a review of “Life Lessons from Hip Hop”. I had no idea what to expect when I first started reading this book. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of information in this book. It is not only a great read for anyone who is interested in learning about the history of hip-hop, but also for those who are looking for Life Lessons that can be learned from stories hip-hop music tells. You can put a great book on a coffee table to pick up when you really need it! a quick and easy way to learn more about the genre.
The book is written by Michael Eric Dyson, who is an African American professor at Georgetown University. He has been studying the culture of hip hop since the early 1990s. He has written a number of books on the subject, including "Hip Hop America: How It Got Here and Why It’s Still Around" (2001), and “Why I Love Black Boys: Essays on Race and Sexiness” (2003), and “Is Bill Cosby Right? Or Has The Black Middle It is not only a great read for anyone who is interested in learning about the history of hip hop, but also for those who are looking for a way to understand and appreciate the culture of black people.
