I have read quite a few books about hip-hop, as it is one of my favorite music genres to explore; there are, of course, thematic implications within any artistic expression. You can learn about history, gender, sex, money, socioeconomics, drugs/vice, mental health... there's so much to tackle. This particular book takes it a step in the other direction and collates "tips to become the best version of yourself with 50 must-read lessons on creativity and self help" from popular hip hop artists.

The cover is excellent. The layout and design is engaging and modern. The idea for the plot lends itself to being a possible great gift for rap fanatics. It's one of those books that you get because you just like the genre and rap, you might find a bit of fun in owning it and just flipping through to see some quotes and tidbits from artists you admire. I think it delivered on what it put forward in its summary, and I would suggest it as a gift idea or even just a music collection addition or "coffee table book." It's mostly suitable for teenage and above ages.
