As an avid fan of the mystery/thriller/suspense genres, I am always looking for something that surprises and intrigues me, and YA books in these genres often leave me a little disappointed. There have been many, even those that reviewers I trust have loved, that I found to be lacking. However, Lies You Never Told Me really worked for me. It's a pretty mature YA book, which probably helped with the level of sophistication, and there are some storylines in this book that are definitely best suited to older or more mature readers. I was so curious how the storylines of Elyse and Gabe were going to connect, as they take place many miles apart, and readers will be so ready when they figure out the relationship between the stories. This book is an absolute pageturner, and when I wasn't reading it I was thinking about it, and it's by far one of my favorite and most memorable YA books yet this year.
