I was hooked on this book from the first sneak peek. Gabe's story has me gripped as I read more about him and Sasha. Then get parents paint a nasty view and I immediately think they ran poor Gabe over as he leaves their house, but I was off the mark and that was probably what hooked me. This is definitely worth reading for those within the age bracket and is a good psychological thriller for teens. As you read further you will be introduced to two different personalities that are going through two totally different life transitions but not completely far off from each other. The two perspectives hit a lot of important topics and some of these terms might face regularly or not at all. I do think some of the scenes or dialogue seemed overly concerned with being correct or... trying to make sure the reader understands the just of it. It made it hard to make it believable. I do think it made a good point of making the story seem sinister and dangerous by focusing on how your choices can often lead to serious consequences. I like how that is focused on and how the characters changed as they faced different things in their lives. It shows us that we are fallible creatures and are often motivated by our feelings and not our head. Elyse paints a very interesting view for young girls and insecurity. It also shows how vulnerable you really are under certain circumstances. Overall, I did enjoy the book but I felt it romanticized certain things that shouldn't be.
