The cover drew me in immediately. Dark and mysterious-I had to know what this book was about and add it to my GoodReads account. I like the simplicity of it and that you are not automatically sure what the book will contain. What first struck me upon reading the text was the imagery. I felt like I could perfectly imagine the setting from the very first sentence. That kind of writing takes you into the book, takes you to a new location. I knew this was going to be written in a way that hooked me, more than just the plot. The other thing that made me confident I would like this book was the note from the editor. Her preoccupation with the same popculture I enjoy and her promotion of this book made me believe that I too would enjoy this read.
