This novel starts out quite like most YA novels do, high school aged kids, boy-friends, girl-friends, drama. The two main focal characters Elyse and Gabe are portrayed to be in two separate parts of the United States. They each have their own issues from friends to family to school. Gabe's initial girl-friend Sasha is not the nicest gal towards him or anyone for that matter, she is quite the manipulator throughout this novel putting lives in danger. Gabe finally getting fed up with Sasha's bologna, spots Catherine, our other secondary character. She is quiet, reserved, hesitant and vague. Gabe is the one person she eventually opens up to, she lets him see her in another light. But Catherine has her secrets too. We get to also be introduced to Aiden Hunter who is a drama teacher at Elyse's school. Her and Aiden do the unthinkable and Elyse finds herself in a pickle. This is a book you MUST read thru to the ending.Throughout this novel you are touching on so many life issues from drugs, love, family, death etc. It gives a good idea of the consequences of bad choices to the reader. I think the YA audience will surely enjoy this novel. I enjoyed this novel myself as an adult!
