I typically enjoy this author's work, so I was very excited for this. I was especially excited for the setting, because I read it on my NY vacation. The Legacies is an intriguing mystery, but I was a bit underwhelmed with one of the two main mysteries delivered in the story. I was pleasantly surprised with the biggest of the mysteries and I think the author was smart to make not only who was a murderer part of the plot, but even who was actually murdered (despite knowing that someone has died at the ball). I appreciated the storyline and varied points of view, but it didn't quite have what it takes to be the perfect 5 star novel. That being said though, four stars is still a great read. Thanks to the publisher, author, and Bookish First for my advanced copy! As always, I can't wait to see what the future holds from this author! Always a good time when reading one of her thrillers. :)
