Spoiled Wealthy People with a Needy Teen Player Tossed In

The cover is eye catching for this YA novel with what seems to be a fairly interesting story. Judging from the sample pages, the first-personnarrator has a couple of difficulties that her peers do not. So far- before the murder on the night of their formal event- the unexpected death of the narrator's mother and the guilty feeling that she must raise some money to contribute to the household budget are the conflicts. That need to contribute, however, may be more imagined than real since the narrator is a student in an elite prep school with a prize of twenty-five thousand dollars for helping to promote the school.
