I LOVED The Counselors, so I was pretty excited to see another story from Jessica Goodman coming down the pipe. And this is not disappoint!
Jessica is really good at setting a strong atmospheric tone in her writing, including in this glitzy world of the wealthy elite. The prep school girls gave off a kind of Gossip Girl vibe, but more nuanced. I would only change the cover slightly to make it more feminine almost, but I like that the cover connotes the elite club at the heart of the story.
I think the market is fairly saturated right now with thrillers, but this First Impression still stood out. A must-read for sure!
