Set in present day, this book started off on a high note. Cameras flashing, press awaiting, there was so much hustle and bustle that it kept me wanting to read more to find out what was going on. The use of first person narration made the story personal, and opened a window into the mind of the speaker. and This only made the thoughts of "The Lost One" that much more mysterious, which is something that is not possible with a third person point of view. The use of imagery really helped me paint a complete picture of both the setting and the speaker herself, which made the story much more enjoyable.

The style of writing takes some getting used to. At several points, the focus is removed from the plot and what is currently happening to go into more detail about the speaker and her background. This is a tactic that is better used at more calm parts of the novel instead of a more high-paced moment. However, this method also created more suspense and certainly kept me reading just to move on to the next part.

Overall, the writing style kept me from enjoying this book as much as I could have. Despite this, I would definitely recommend this to my suspense-loving friends!
