Mrs. Mejia’s book is incredibly suspenseful! Definitely for readers interested in suspense/thrillers! From the first page, Maya, the staff therapist at the mental hospital on top of the hill in Duluth, Minnesota, is a lovable character. Maya is sent to try to talk to Lucas Blackthorn into conversation. Mistakenly, Maya let’s her guard down to the Ward 4 patient and he uses her to escape his cell. Lucas doesn’t get far as Maya tackles him. I can’t wait to see what happens next between the two characters. What will there next interaction be like? Will Maya find a way to get Lucas to talk? Leave No Trace has me wanting to read Mejia’s other books, I can definitely get down with her style and diction.
