I received the book from the author, publisher and bookish for free. I willingly read this book and reviewing for free. What a wonderful book and the location of this book in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan was so refreshing. Reminding me of my vacations there at the falls. Maya was a great central character in the book. Flawed with her own problems but working with the depressed and challanged as a speech therapist. She goes to help the boy and close to the end of the story we find out he had the answers to her questions in her life about her own mother.
The story slowly builds but the author builds her characters so that you connect with each one and their individual flaws. This is a book I could read again.
