Leave No Trace started out strong, but the ending was a bit flat for me and wrapped it too conveniently. From the beginning, I wanted to figure out what was going on. What was Maya’s backstory? Where was her mother? Why wouldn’t Lucas talk to anyone? It made this quite an addictive read and I didn’t want to put the book down.

Maya and Lucas were both interesting characters, but I didn’t really buy their connection or romance. Maya was too quick to through he entire life away for the chance to help Lucas and that just seemed too unbelievable.

Ultimately, my favorite part of this book was the setting. I wish it would have elaborated on the environment and the way Lucas and his father survived ten years in that epic wilderness.
