Intriguing suspense story with a bit of a wilderness aspect which creates a unique setting. Mindy Mejia became a must-read author for me after Everything You Want Me to Be and I had been eagerly awaiting her next novel, which did not disappoint! I love how Mejia writes her flawed characters in such realistic and endearing ways that you feel for them, despite all the reasons in the world not to, and Maya is surely an example of this. While this one was more atmosphere than EYWMTB, and some of the outdoorsy descriptions definitely lost me at times, overall this was still a great read that I absolutely enjoyed from start to finish!
