I like the beginning! I could see myself getting lost in the story of Lucas Blackthorn. He seems like so much more than a boy lost and found again. I think Maya has some history herself that will make her connect with him even more. It seems like every one else involved in Lucas' care has written him off as crazy or something. Maya doesn't go down that route and really seemed to want to give him a chance. I like the way the author writes and draws you into Maya's head. She seems like shes a bit broken herself. Stan says in the beginning that Lucas only likes one person but the way that he responds to Maya makes the think that he will finally open up with her and let her know what the heck was going on with him the last 10 years!
