This is a mix of thriller and mystery with a touch of love story added in. I finished reading this book in only a couple of days. The story grabs you from the first few chapter and holds on. I really enjoyed the characters and the story.
Lucas, a boy missing along with his father for the past 10 years suddenly shows back up. He is sent to a psych hospital to find out what has happened to him and his father. Maya, a young woman with her own painful past is tasked with helping him open up and tell his story.
This is a story with family and love at it’s core. I find it very satisfying when an author is able to write an exciting and intriguing story while still creating characters that touch you emotionally.
I really enjoyed Mejia’s writing. She is definitely an author I’ll continue to watch with anticipation.
