Psych wards are cold. Menacing. The beginning of this books is luke warm at best. I love when a book grabs me straight off. I felt like I was waiting to be pulled in. Then just a small twist. Why did her voice stop him? But that is all. I would have liked more into HOW Lucas came to be in the ward. Not much given on the type of person Maya is either, short on that she was an orderly who is now a therapist which...sorry seems to be unlikely to me. Sort of felt like being dropped into the middle of the story. Which is fine, I love books written out of order but there needed to be more of a twist in the beginning to keep the reader interested. Psychological thrillers are my fav. The cover for this book is what drew me in.
