This novel was brilliant! I read it in two sittings and found myself thinking of the characters long after I put the book down. I was inspired to read the book after seeing the beautiful movie of the same name last year and was happily surprised that the stories differ significantly. The movie is based on a true story of father and daughter, while the book follows a grown adult son after he is found and receives psychological treatment. The writing style is straightforward and lends itself to a speedy read but still beautiful. The characters are interesting and we are able, as readers, to dig a bit deeper into their emotions and psyche as we see them both in and out of therapeutic treatment. Wonderful!
