This story is intriguing from the beginning and really sets the pace up front. From the description of the book, you know the man they have caught has been basically on the run or missing for the past ten years. Now that they've found him, he won't talk. The reader is given the impression he could be a savage now, but something in how he responds to Maya indicates some depth, knowledge, understanding...Maya's his language therapist and it's her job to get him to talk. From the beginning we can tell there is going to be a connection between the two, we just don't know in what way. I'm excited for even just a chance to find out!
