It's a little hard to get a handle on a book like this just from the first few pages. One thing I like about it is that we've started with the basics, so the barrier to entry is very low to anyone without a psychology background. However, to anyone with a psychology background, there's not much new information being presented. I would continue reading to see what areas of my brain I can grow from this book's contents though.
