Lavender House has been said to be a queer Knives Out which I can totally see. Both follow a detective (while in this case ex detective) as they investigate the death of the head of an eccentric family who clearly have their share of squabbles. Definitely makes for an interesting plot that I really enjoyed!

Some parts were funny and charming while other parts got pretty heavy. There were some parts with gay bashing and violence that were hard to read, but I understand it was keeping in the times of the 1950s but just mentioning for TW.

The characters themselves were definitely interesting, at times morally gray, but overall characters I grew to really like. 💜

Overall, even though I figured out the who dunnit, this was a solid locked room mystery that kept me entertained!
