Lavender house is a queer historical fiction book by Lev. A.C. Rosen. I had previously read his other book Camp, but this is my favorite book of his so far. This surprised me because Camp was a young adult book and my favorite genre, while I don't read a lot of historical fiction. However the mystery was intriguing and I loved the LBGT+ representation in Lavender House. The book is set in the 1950s in San Francisco. It follows our main character Evander who gets caught at a gay club and fired from his job. This widow of a famous soap empire hires him to figure out a death. I really liked the setting of the house, the characters, and the queer representation! The mystery was both thrilling and cozy and I really hope there's a second book on the way! I loved the characters. I didn't really get how this relates to Knives Out though. It reminded me a bit of Clue though.
