I picked this book up because I fell in love with the cover. I kept reading it because of the story. It was so well written. I needed to know all the things and just could not put it down. Andy is a recently outed gay detective that was fired because of this. He is sought out to solve a murder at Lavender house. Lavender house is filled with found family and queer acceptance. This is the story of their lives and Andy coming to terms with his shift in life. It took a minute for me to love Andy but I sure did. I adored Irene. She was heartbroken and just wanted to know the truth about what happened to her wife. I wanted Andy to find that out for her too. I loved how everyone could be a suspect and no one at the same time. I was constantly changing who I thought did it. I love when that happens. The book just kept me guessing. I absolutely adore a found family. This one was just wonderful. I loved the mystery. I cannot wait to read the next book.
