I wanted to read this book because I loved Camp so much. I was a little worried that I wouldn't like it because it is a completely different type of book/genre from camp. Camp was all about being open and loving who you are, while Lavender House takes place in a time where being openly part of the LGBTQIA+ community was dangerous. Also Camp was more of a romance and Lavender House was a mystery. That being said, I actually really enjoyed this novel. I'm not a huge mystery buff so I'm pretty easy to fool when it comes to figuring out who did it. I thought it was well done because I had my suspicions but the possible suspects and their motives kept me changing my mind. I don't know if a mystery buff would think the same way though. But either way I think it will be an enjoyable murder mystery for all. The murder mystery also reminded me of Clue with almost all of the suspects being in the house. So if you're a fan of Clue then you might enjoy this one. I think this mystery would be classified as a cozy mystery because it's not full of thriller suspense. So keep that in mind also.
Overall an enjoyable read!
