I didn’t know I needed this until I started reading and WOW! Sign me up because I am hooked! The cover even hides so many intricate details it took me awhile to parse them all out and I’m now beyond interested in what they all mean!!
This story feels like a mix between 1950’s film noirs like “Angel Face”, the modern whodunit “Knives Out” and the very real necessity for those living in the “fringes” of “polite society” to create a community and home by and for themselves. With a wealthy murdered heiress, her collective of housemates and a suicidal former detective creating a mix of familial suspense and the depressing reality of how queer individuals have been treated throughout history. This is one that I cannot wait to finish reading!!
