First, thank you to Bookish First for this copy. I read the first impression and thought ehh...its okay, but nothing special.
And then I read the book and it was not what I expected. The character development was great.
Pete, Alpo, Sissy, and Rauri were like people you meet everyday. They were predictable, but surprising and decent people.
While the story didn't engulf me right away, when it did I was all in.
It's a story about people, and what you may think about people, what society thinks about people, what you, yourself think about people and people are people no matter where you go or who you meet.
The author did a great job in understanding people and her characters showed it.
I now want to read "Vacationland" andlookpp forward to the third installment of this trilogy
