While the cover illustration is muddy and not particularly inviting, Stonich frames this novel beautifully from the outset, establishing a clear, small-town Minnesotan setting, with a quirky cast of characters. Love what I've read so far: dialogue-driven, with serious authorial attention paid to character development, and a nice mix of the serious and humorous. Can't wait to read further.
