I love books about small communities and the interactions of people in them. How one person who seems insignificant has a huge impact on a group. This book appears to be one that fits in that category. They teach us to take note of everyone we interact with. Like the biblical saying about being kind to strangers because you might be entertaining angels. The book is about community that seems to be lost and unsure how to proceed when one person doesn't emerge from their winter retreat. We talk about the psyche of a person a lot but the psyche of a community very little.
